What affects the cost

Flue liner length
The height of your chimney directly affects how much flexible liner is needed.
Existing chimney condition
A chimney needing repair, relining work, or a new chimney cap/pot adds to the job.
Stove size and output (kW)
Stove price varies by brand, output and finish (wood-only vs multi-fuel, cast iron vs steel).
Hearth and surround
A simple slate hearth costs less than a bespoke stone surround or fireplace rebuild.

Maintenance & aftercare

- HETAS

- Flue liner
- A flexible stainless steel liner installed inside an existing chimney to safely vent a stove and improve draw.
- DEFRA-exempt stove
- A stove tested and approved for use in a Smoke Control Area, even when burning wood.
- Smoke Control Area
- A zone (usually urban) designated under the Clean Air Act where only approved smokeless fuels or exempt appliances can be used.
- kW output
- The heat output of a stove. Sizing this correctly for your room's volume and insulation avoids overheating or under-heating the space.
- Multi-fuel stove
- A stove designed to safely burn both wood and solid mineral fuels, using a riddling grate, as opposed to a wood-only stove.
